Me, in a nutshell

Hello. Thanks for visiting my site. I’m Stevie Roberts, a professional photographer based in Cobham, Surrey, with a passion for portrait photography. People are fascinating and there is so much a face can tell us that a photograph can capture for all time. When I'm not doing that, I also take portraits of small businesses,  events and parties - they too have stories to tell. Portrait photography

At some point most of us need some professional photos to represent ourselves or to capture and hold striking images of those we love.  I take all sorts of portraits: from fine art personal photos to portfolio ‘headshots’ for artists, actors, dancers and musicians looking for something different. Private commissions from individuals and families are what I like doing most; creating a professional look for you on your home turf, using my portable studio or perhaps capturing you situated amongst the things where you feel most ‘at home’. I have a particular interest in ‘generational photography’ - father and son, mother and daughter - taken in an informal setting, exploring and capturing these unique relationships in time. And of course, everyone looks much better if they are at ease in front of the camera, so that’s what I like to do. 

You at work: natural photography for small businesses 

Running a small business is personal. You’re not just offering a product or service, you’re putting your energy, your personality, and your values into everything you do. That’s what these sessions are all about: capturing the human side of your brand in a way that feels real, relaxed, and genuinely you. I’ll spend time with you in your own space, whether that’s a studio, a shop, a restaurant, a kitchen table or somewhere in between, photographing you and your team at work, as you are. We’ll capture a mix of informal portraits, behind-the-scenes moments, and those small details that bring your business to life and help people connect with you and your work. So, if you need fresh images for your website, social media or marketing - something honest, professional and full of personality- let’s talk.

Party and event photography

I appreciate that ‘putting on a do’, whether big or small, takes a lot of effort and often has a lot riding on it, which is why I like to get right to the heart of your event or party and understand how you want it to come across in pictures. After that it’s my job to seek out where the visual gems are to be found; mixing up the twin skills of being invisible to your guests and capturing them at their most natural; and being more interactive - a “camera provocateur” of sorts- to bring out their character and energy, and a real sense of what’s going on. From private parties and opening nights to PR launches or charity events, I’m here to provide you with fresh, memorable images that tell the story of the day as you would like it told and shared.
